These 19 missionaries arrived on 7 different flights! Thankfully all but one piece of their luggage arrived with them! Here's how arrival and orientation day look!!
Anxious leaders and missionaries watch the arrival board with welcome signs and cameras in hand!
A lot of hugs, happy tears, and laughter!!
Sister Nelson and Sister Staples have cold drinks and snacks ready for them after their long, long flights!
Elder Nelson and Elder Staples manage their luggage and help them exchange money! This transfer required a chartered bus!
Dinner and getting to know you at the Annex and then off for a good night's sleep at a hotel.
Breakfast, pictures, orientation/training, lunch, new companion and area reveal, and more training. Then off they go to change the world!
A special thank you to Elder & Sister Nelson and Elder & Sister Staples who take care of every single detail for all the above to happen. They set up, take down, cook, clean, serve food, move luggage several times, drive in Tokyo, assemble amazing books and schedules for training, train on finances, insurance, bikes, run the office, take care of the money, and so much more. Nothing is convenient in Tokyo but they do it all with cheerfulness and love.
Another special thank you to our amazing Assistants who carry out and make everything happen that is on President's mind! They are wonderful examples, love every missionary, help create the mission culture, train, travel the mission, problem solve and so much more.
We had great help from our STL's for this transfer who spent 2 1/2 full days with us welcoming the new missionaries, managing the hotel, riding trains here and there, training, cleaning, but mostly laughing and loving!
We love big in the JTNM!!
